Version 4
This is the fourth incarnation of the Altered Perception site. The first was a very bare bones version with a white and teal theme and some general info on the site. The second version was a black theme with a menu across the top and more detailed information. The third version's design simulated a window in the Mac OS X Finder, using the top of the window as a menu and the main window as the content frame. Version four is hosted on a new server and is database-driven and written in PHP for the first time. Keys and Wings Altered Perception's URL, keysandwings.com, is taken from the liner notes of the first album, A Lock on the Door. The text reads, "Keys are the tools you use to accomplish your goals. Wings are the people, memories, dreams, and hopes that make you happy. Keys and wings are all you need." Secret Portal The secret portal is the box in the upper right corner of the site with the "Unlock" button. There are codes for the portal hidden around the site. If you find one of the codes, enter it into the box to be taken to a hidden area. Becoming a member gives you access to more portal codes. Site Technologies keysandwings.com has several complex features including a completely secure membership system, the APBB forum and journaling system, and the APCE web comic engine. All content was written by me (Jimmy Cuadra) from scratch in PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with a MySQL database. If you would like similar features for your site, I would be happy to help.
