Altered Perception is the music of Jimmy Cuadra. Altered Perception plays electronic rock- a hybrid of various styles including alternative and electronica. Jimmy has been building a studio and writing music since late 1996. His original projects were released across several demo tapes between 1996 and 2000 and are no longer distributed. On June 24, 2001, Jimmy started Altered Perception with the release of Bathtub EP, a collection of 8 songs, including a few from the 1996-2000 era. Bathtub EP was intended as a sample of the first major Altered Perception project that was in the works: A Lock on the Door, a full length LP that was released on October 31, 2001. Featuring 13 original songs, including the single "Bathtub" from Bathtub EP, this CD marked the true debut of Altered Perception and remains the strongest effort to date. In 2002, Altered Perception finished a remix CD, Bathtub Drain, which included three singles from A Lock on the Door, several remixes, and one new song. This CD was intended to replace the original Bathtub EP which is no longer sold. Bathtub Drain was not released, however, until July 2004. In 2003, Altered Perception was asked to write music for Matthew Mishory's film Love & Testosterone. A few songs by Altered Perception appeared in the film, released to the public on May 31st, 2003. The music section of keysandwings.com contains the entire Love & Testosterone collection, including orchestral cues that were not used in the final film. The music section also features a few other ongoing collections. Rusted Shut was originally planned as the follow-up LP to A Lock on the Door, but interests have changed and this CD was never completed. Production on the CD may continue in the future, although there are no current plans to do so. Orchestral Selections includes Jimmy's work that falls out of the genre niche of Altered Perception, including short orchestral and choral pieces. Likewise, DJ Jibs includes parody/comedy hip hop and electronic music not fitting to release as Altered Perception. There are no further projects in the pipeline at the moment, although Altered Perception is hardly finished. Check the site for updates and announcements!
